Why Donate

Why Donate

Women, particularly those in low-income communities who have no access to digital tools and resources, constitute an overlooked, unheard, and unrepresented group with little power to change the status quo. AkiraChix’s value proposition centres around ensuring young women from underserved communities have the resources and opportunities to thrive. We are honoured that our work in pursuit of a better tomorrow for young women is funded almost entirely by donations given to us by passionate individuals, organizations and corporates from all over the world, who share in our values and care and want to support us to create change. Your donation pulled by other support channels goes a long way in helping us, give young women from underserved communities the tools and resources to not only get access to rewarding work but also live fulfilling lives. It takes a village and the Aroha of a community to be a difference.

Backup Power Generator

The alumni community ( codeHiveX) raised $21,000 to purchase and install a backup generator. This significant boost means that students do not have to lose out on the day’s lessons and activities. We applaud this kind of thoughtfulness and sisterhood of the codeHive community.

AkiraChix Campus

2021 marked a monumental shift for AkiraChix — It was a year of exciting initiatives and changes. We added new developments to our arsenal and saw tremendous growth in our reach and impact as we adapted to new demands and challenges. We built 3 new classrooms and a commercial kitchen that serves 150 people daily. We are proud to have achieved this milestone thanks to ANITA B and look forward to the opportunities that lay ahead.
