Kenya ICT Board grant towards development of Digital Content and Software Applications

Calling on all AkiraChix out there!! Ladies, its time to get your thinking caps ON, and get down to business(in this case, coding :D)! A great opportunity has presented itself, and you should NOT let it pass you by.

The Kenya ICT board announced the launch of a Kshs 300 Million grant in today’s Daily Nation Newspaper(page 26). This grant targets local developers.

The grant shall be awarded for:-

  • Developing innovative communications and information applications that utilize mobile and web technologies for Private Sector content and applications.
  • Developing web and mobile based information services for the existing government information portal that will be readily accessible to government agencies and the general public.

Firms stand to be awarded a maximum of US$50,000, while individuals stand to be awarded US$10,000.

Enquiries can be made by sending an email to grants@ict.go.ke between 3rd June 2010 and 24th June 2010.

So start thinking about your proposals NOW and apply :). The deadline for submission of proposals is 19th July 2010.
