Genius Skwäd is a space where kids 6 to 11 years old get to explore science, technology, engineering and math with fun, hands-on activities. This past week provided an environment where kids used their own natural curiosity to make discoveries about the world around them.
The kids learned how to create, and code a game using Scratch. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively and is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab.
The afternoon portion of this camp also incorporated an arts and crafts component that had the kids engaged in different explorations of painting techniques with an introduction to basic printing techniques.
